Untreated, Advanced Gum Disease Really Needs Periodontal Surgery

All the surface of the tooth cannot be reached by brushing alone. If you let plaque and tartar build up between teeth and gums it will eventually lead to tooth decay and gum problems. Draw the dental floss up and down, between teeth, in order to loosen the plaque so it can be flushed away. Because adults are the ones susceptible to gum problems, gum disease treatments are really necessary for them. However, children may also develop the condition as well. Leaving gum disease untreated will allow it to progress below the gum line then advanced gum disease treatments may be required such as periodontal surgery and these may include regeneration, pocket reduction, soft tissue graft and crown lengthening.
