Avoiding Hot Flash

Other things that may trigger hot flash are hot spicy food, alcohol and caffeinated foods and drinks. Alcohol especially the red wine can release epinephrine, which may trigger hot flash. Try to avoid hot environment and keep your thermostat on the lowest tolerable temperature for you. Hot bath may also trigger hot flash as the skin blood vessels may dilate naturally.

While hormonal changes may be a natural physical occurrence for menopausal women, it is the emotional pressure that brings on many disorders including hot flashes. Suppressed anger, depression, panic disorders and anxiety are all good triggers.

Identifying and avoiding triggers is a good way to go in managing hot flashes.
